Clinton Advisor Praises the Power of Social Media [VIDEO]

Mashable‘s third annual Social Media Day kicks off Saturday. The worldwide event celebrates the digital revolution that empowers people everywhere to have their voices be heard and connect from miles apart.

We asked Alec Ross, senior advisor for innovation to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, why it’s important we get offline to celebrate our online communities on Social Media Day. He says social media has become increasingly relevant and powerful in foreign policy and that it “gives voice to people who are historically disconnected from political processes.”
