Less Than Half SMEs Survive Beyond Five Years – Employment Laws

According to the FSB’s new Back To Work report, which is based on Labour Force Survey data over the 14 years from 1997 to 2011, 59% of people working in the private sector are employed by UK SMEs and these businesses will account for 49% of private sector turnover.

They also note that 88% of the unemployed who enter the private sector workforce go on to start their own business or work for an SME.
